The wax that we use is 100% blended vegetable based! We do NOT use paraffin or petroleum based wax!

The main reason that we exclusively use Honeywell's Astorlite "natural" wax is because once the wick to our candles is lit, the ENTIRE surface of the candle will liquefy within a very short period of time.

Most other candle's flames will tunnel into the wax, leaving lots of wax on the sides which blocks the view of the flame and very often does NOT melt off the sides.

When our container candle is 1/3 consumed, the wax line will be flat with the top 1/3 of the glass completely clean of all wax and clear such that the flame will be visible each and EVERY time the WindScents candle is lit.

Additionally... our candles burn CLEAN- no soot or smoke- and have an extremely strong fragrance throw.

If you'd like all the scientific data you can find it by clicking here. In a nutshell, the most uniquely identifying qualities of this wax are that it melts at about 120 degrees, is a very "hard" wax and exhibits a "quartz crystal" look.

This wax is relatively EXPENSIVE as compared to most other waxes used by candle-makers today. We purchase by the pallet (2,200lbs) such that we can get better pricing and give you what we believe to be the absolute BEST wax on the market today.

Most candle-makers today will only use "one-pour" waxes... those which can be poured into containers all at once and never need be bothered with again. The wax we use is "two-pour"... after filling the container about 7/8 full, we wait for the wax to nearly fully cure, then must punch out (by hand, with a knife) all air pockets which have formed.

We then re-heat the wax to "final-pour" the containers and fill in all such pockets and tunnels. As you can imagine, this is EXTREMELY time consuming and labor intensive... therefore, most candle-makers would NOT use this wax.
